Cup Series – Kansas Speedway – Super Start Batteries 400

In Nascar by devinLeave a Comment

This week we head to Kansas for the Super Start Batteries 400 Presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts. This is a 267 lap race (400 miles) at a 1.5 track, again. This is another track where clean air is king and passing is hard. We are looking at a 2 maybe 3 dominator build for the race.

Race Track: Kansas Speedway (1.5 Mile speedway)

Laps: 267 Laps (400 Miles)

Stages: 80 / 80 / 107

Previous Winners:

  • Denny Hamlin (10/20/19)
  • Brad Keselowski (5/11/19)
  • Chase Elliott (10/21/18)

Kevin Harvick- Starts on the pole and should be able to lead a good chunk of this race and contend for the win. Harvick is tied for most wins here at Kansas. Harvick is chalk tonight and a pretty easy set and forget play.

Ryan Blaney- Blaney should have won last week in Texas. He has been very fast these last few races but the question is does that translaste into the night race tonight? Blaney needs a top 5 finish and needs to lead laps to hit vaule. He is a solid play overall.

Denny Hamlin- I debated AA or Hamlin here, AA has been on fire, with 7 straight top 10s. But I went Hamlin here over AA. Hamlin has not finished in the top 15 since his last win 3 races ago. Hamlin is a very good night racer and with no practice or quilfying, the set up will be key and that is what Hamlins team is good at. I think he will be a bit lower owned due to recent preformance.

Chase Elliott- Elliott is just like Hamlin at night races, his last 3 night races this year he has finished 2nd, 1st and 2nd. He is starting 11th so we get a little bit of floor with him tonight. Look for Chase to be htere at end, and leading some laps along the way.

Best of the rest:

  • Joey Logano
  • Kyle Busch
  • Martin Truex Jr
  • Alex Bowman
  • Aric Almirola

Place Differential

Erik Jones- Once again we are getting a chalk Erik Jones, problem tonight is he isnt as cheap as he has been. To me Jones is more set for GPPs tonight due to his price and the nature of his top 5 finish or bust lately. I like Jones but not someone i looking to jam into cash.

Ty Dillon- Dillon is a great salary relieft tonight. He is starting 36th and has an aveage finish of 25th in night races. Nothing more to say here other than lock him into cash games.

Tyler Reddick- Fresh off his 2nd place finish last week at Texas, Reddick will start 23rd with top 15 upside. Reddick is also putting up fast laps and is a good night racer, with 4 top 15 finishes on the year at night. He is another solid cash game target tonight.

Christopher Bell- Bell is having a great rookie year and if not for the late wreck last week, he would have had another top 15 finish. Bell is starting 22nd so that gives him a solid floor to move into the top 15, and i expect him to finish top 12 tonight. Once again another good cash game play.

Ryan Preece- Preece has been bad lately, with finishes of 40th, 38th and 40th in his last 3 races. If he can stay out of trouble tonight i think he can crack the top 22. He is starting 35th so he has great place differential upside tonight. He is a riskier cash game option but 1 that if you add in with Dillon you can get another stud or 2 in your cash game lineups.

Best of the rest:

  • A. Dillon
  • John Hunter Nemechek
  • Ricky Stenhouse Jr
  • Cole Custer
  • Clint Bowyer
  • Jimmy Johnson
  • Bj McLeod (Risky but valule play)
