Home Run Derby 5/23

J.D. Martinez– JD might sit today so we will keep this one short. JD absolutely owns lefties to the tune of .457 wOBA and .364 ISO. If JD starts, JD homers here.

Ji-Man Choi– Choi and the Rays are in Cleveland tonight taking on Adam Plutko of the Indians. Plutko flat out stinks against lefties, giving up a whopping .401 wOBA and .325 ISO! Plutko leans heavily on a 91 mph fastball throwing it 61% of the time to lefties.

Choi hammers 90-92 mph fastballs with an impressive .615 wOBA, .560 ISO, 57% hard contact and average distance of 343 feet!

The Rays are a brutal matchup for righties that struggle against lefties. Stack the TB lefties tonight with: Choi, Brandon Lowe, Meadows and Kiermaier.

Anthony Rendon– Another absolute lefty smasher. Rendon is up against Steven Matz in NY today. Matz throws almost exclusively sinkers to both sides of the plate.

Rendon hits the sinker very well in a sizable sample size. He has a .453 wOBA, .323 ISO, 44% hard contact rate and average distance of 338 feet. It comes as no surprise that Rendon has great history against Matz with 3 homers and a 1.026 OPS.

Chalk Homer Call- Gleyber Torres. Gleyber has 12 homers on the year, 10 of them are against the Orioles!
