Home Run Derby 5/31

Before we dive in, lets see how yesterdays picks fared.

Bryce Harper- 0 homers, 3 hits, 1 RBI- 18.5 FD Points

Jordan Luplow- 1 homer- 18.7 FD Points

While Harper didn’t homer, he did have 2 doubles to end up with the equivalent of a homer. We will take those scores all day!

Juan Soto– Soto finds himself against Tyler Mahle of the Reds. Mahle really struggles against lefties. Lets take a look at some stats for both guys.

As you can see, there are a lot of things to like here. Whats more is Juan Soto profiles extremely well against Mahle’s main pitch to lefites, a 92 mph fastball. Against 92-94 mph fastballs, Soto has a .512 wOBA and .481 ISO. I like a mini stack here with Matt Adams.

Trevor Story– Our 3rd highest rated bat today, Story is at home taking on journeyman Edwin Jackson. After a disaster 5 strike out day on Sunday, Story has bounced back with 7 hits his last 2 games, including a 4 hit day yesterday. Lets take a look at some numbers.

As you can see, a whole lot of green here. Rockies have a monster total over 7 today! Even if that drops a bit, Rockies are going to be the highest owned team on the slate and for good reason. You can stack the Rockies any and every which way.

Bonus: The only player who ranks higher than Soto and Story today on our rankings is Mike Trout. Also, a trio of Dodgers find themselves in the top 10 of our rankings: Max Muncy/Joc Pederson/Cody Bellinger
