Before we dive in, lets see how yesterdays picks fared.
Cody Bellinger- 0 homers, 1 triple, 2 RBI, 1 BB- 22.2 Fanduel Points
Austin Meadows- 0 homers, 1 double, 1 run, 1 BB- 12. 2 Fanduel Points
Javier Baez- 1 homer, 2 singles, 2 RBI, 2 runs- 31.4 Fanduel Points
Bonus Pick- Austin Riley- 1 3 run homer- 1 BB -35.1 Fanduel Points
While our top 2 guys didn’t homer, Bellinger still scored more than the equivalent of a homer and Meadows scored double digits. Yet another really solid day! On to today’s 12 game main slate.
Matt Carpenter– Our top ranked bat of the day and also projected as one of the highest owned players of the day. Matt Carpenter finds himself against Anthony DeSclafani and the Reds. DeSclafani struggles big time with lefties while Carpenter fares well against righties. Lets take a look at boths numbers.
As you can see, we are looking at a ton of green here (sheet is a color scale, the higher the stats, the greener)! Not only do we have some monster numbers here, we also have a great matchup pitch wise. DeSclafani throws 94 mph fastballs to lefties 49% of the time. A pitch that Carpenter hits to the tune of .462 wOBA, .381 ISO and a whopping 57% hard contact! It comes as no surprise that Carpenter has owned DeSclafani in his career.
Michael Conforto– We went chalk with the first pick, so let’s go lower owned with the 2nd pick. Tyler Beede has a 6.19 xFIP! He can’t get anybody to chase and gives up a ton of contact. Lets take a look at some numbers.
As you can see, Beede is giving up a ton to lefties with a .440 wOBA and .237 ISO to lefties. Look to Mets lefties as a low owned gpp stack here with Conforto/Smith/McNeil/Cano all viable gpp plays.
Bonus: 3 of our top 5 ranked bats are all Red Sox. J.D./Mookie/Xander make for an intriguing 3 man stack.
