Joon-seop Im (Hanwha- $4,000) is on the hill for the Eagles tonight. Last year he pitched in 34 games only 6 of which he started. Carried a 4.20 ERA while giving up 56 hits and 30 runs in 49 2/3 innings. Fact: Im only went over 4 2/3 innings once last season.
GPP (at $4,000 any pitcher is worth the shot in a large scale tourney).
Ricardo Pinto (SK-$4,000) will be making his KBO debut tonight. Formerly with the Phillies, Rays, White Sox and Giants Pinto pitched in 27 MLB games having a 8.44 ERA over his career. He was a fairly decent pitcher in the minor leagues posting a 12-6 record and 4.23 ERA with the Ray’s AAA/AA teams last year. Fact: Pinto was the Phillies 2015 Minor League POY
GPP/Borderline Cash (Another $4,000 salary and facing a weak Hanwha offense).
GIANTS vs. WIZ (-145) 9 O/U
Jun-won Seo (Lotte- $5,100) is a second year righty looking to make big improvements from his 2019 campaign where he posted a 5.47 era and a 4-11 record. Started 16 of the 33 games he pitched and only 4 that were Quality Starts. Seo also struck out 60 batters in 97 innings while giving up 117 hits and 10 home runs.
GPP (Price is right for multi entry tournaments)
William Cuevas (KT- $7,300) will be looking to build on a strong 1st season in the KBO where he had a 3.62 ERA and a 13-10 record. Struck out 135 batters 184 innings and 18 of his 30 starts were Quality Starts. Cuevas is an ex MLBer from the Red Sox organization but spent most of his time in the minors with a 58-56 overall record and 3.74 ERA.
GPP (Mid-level salary against the worst team from 2019).
NC DINOS vs. SAMSUNG LIONS (+130) 8.5 O/U
Mike Wright (NC- $7,700) is another ex-MLB starter making his KBO debut tonight. Wright is a big 6’6″ righthander formerly of Baltimore and Seattle. Used mostly as a reliever in the MLB he spent 6 years on the AAA/Big League fence securing a 10-12 career record with a 6.00 ERA. Wright will be trying to take that first step in turning his career around tonight.
Ben Lively (Samsung- $6,300) is a former Phillies prospect who joined the Lions midseason last year. Was 4-4 with a respectable 3.95 ERA and 58 strike outs in 57 inning (9.2 K/9, 2.1 BB/9)
Cash (Our #1 cash play of the night on strikeout potential alone).
DOOSAN BEARS vs. LG TWINS (+115) 8.5 O/U
Young-ha Lee (Doosan- $8,900) will be looking to build on a dominant 2019 campaign where he went 17-4 with a 3.64 era and 1.28 whip. Lee is a low strike out pitcher with only 90 strike outs in 163 1/3 innings last season. On a positive note he only allowed 5 home runs during the course of the entire year.
GPP (Low strike out potential keep Lee in tournament territory only)
Eun-beom Song (LG- $4,000) is a KBO veteran playing in his 2nd season for the Twins. This will be his first start since 2017 since he pitched in 63 games out of the bullpen last year. Will be inresting to see how he does after being a reliever for the past few seasons.
GPP (Much better options even with the cheap price tag).
HEROES vs. TIGERS (+110) 8 O/U
Eric Jokisch (Kiwoon-$8,500) will be entering his second year with the Heroes. The former Cubs prospect had an impressive 3.13 ERA with a 1.13 WHIP and 141/39 K/BB ratio in his KBO debut last season.
Cash (Tigers are a bad offensive team and Jokish is one of the elite hurlers in the KBO. If it wasn’t for the price difference between him and Lively, Jokish would be my top play of the day).
Aaron Brooks (KIA- $7,200) comes over to the KBO after a below average MLB career. Went 6-8 with a 5.65 ERA last year while shuttling between the Orioles and A’s. Note: Brooks a power sinker/change up combo and a low 90s fastball. A new league may just be the recipe for success.
Cash (Mid-level salary can be used as a contrarian pivot from Lively/Jokish).
