Worth Paying Up For…
Hyun Jong Yang -Kia Tigers ($10,000)- The 2019 KBO ERA leader is the Top Gun of the league and his salary proves it. Posted a 2.29 ERA over 184 innings while delivering 22 Quality starts. More impressive was Yang’s 163 strike outs while only walking 33 batters. If you are paying up you may as well pay all the way up for the premier pitcher of the league.
But You Can Settle For..
Dan Straily – Lotte Giants ($7,100)- Named starter late on Sunday, Straily is the most accomplished foreign pitcher in the KBO. Threw for almost 500 innings from 2016 to 2018 in MLB with the Reds and Marlins but his career fell on hard times in 2019. Hoping to prove that he can still pitch on a major leaguer level Straily gets his first chance against the Wiz.
Warwick Saupold- Hanwha Eagles ($6,500)- The Aussie hurler has one season under his belt in the KBO and turned into a workhorse pitching 192 innings while posting a 3.51 ERA. A three year pitcher for the Detroit Tigers he also averaged 6.2 innings per start with a 1.27 WHIP. At only $6,500 Saupold may be worth the shot if you want to build your lineup around the big sticks.
