Late Night Madness, Early Edition 6/3

In MLB by devinLeave a Comment

Hey all and welcome to another edition of Late Night Madness. Last night we highlighted J.D. Martinez as our top ranked bat and Luke Voit as your must have Yanks exposure and both came through! Let’s see what we have in store for today’s early game between:

Los Angeles Angels @ Chicago Cubs

Lets take a look at lineups and vegas stats.

As you can see, Vegas likes the Cubs here as -165 favorites and a total over 5. For the Angels, they will be rolling out Cam Bedrosian as an opener and then turning to Trevor Cahill in long relief. As we eluded to in the Home Run Derby article, Cahill is really struggling. Let’s take a look at some history for today’s starters against their opponent.

The Cam Bedrosian sample size carries no weight and he probably only goes 1 inning today. The Lester sampel size is a tad better though only 3 batters have a sample size over 10. So nothing super relevant here history wise for either team. Lets take a look at some stats now.

With an implied total 1.3 runs higher, it is no surprise to see the top 5 bats are all Cubs. Rizzo would be my top priority bat here with Schwarber 2nd. Utilize the dirt cheap price of Cargo on FD to allow you to get multiple big bats. You can assume Trout will see a large amount of ownership. A leverage play would be to fade him and use a Tommy La Stella or Cesar Puello at low ownership and load up on Cubs bats.
