LPL/LCK – Summer Split – 7/18

Finally the LCK is back! This gives us 4 game slates on DK and FD instead of 2. These are best of 3, and remember LCK DOES NOT release starters before hand.

LPL Standings

BLG gets one of the better fantasy friendly matchups today against DMO -and are the highest pried team on the slate. I will be riding with my boy Meteor and his 78.30% KP rate as usual. DMO has the 3rd most deaths in the LPL at 397 so this is very clearly a smash spot for every member of BLG. I would recommend fading thet op lane spot for BLG though as Kingen is a sub risk and there just isn’t much upside for him anyway as he isn’t asked to carry games. My priority ranking for BLG is Meteor, FoFo, XinMo, and Wings. BLG has an advantage in baron control, drakes, and first tower rate. DMO has the advantage in first blood rate but that matters very little to me today. BLG should win 2-0 today but dropping 1 may actually be even more beneficial for them as they’d rack up enough kills to outrun the sweep bonus.

BLG: Meteor, FoFo, Wings, XinMo
DMO: Fade

Invictus Gaming vs Royal Never Give Up

IG looked very good the other night in their 2-0 undressing of LNG and it appears they’ve settled in on a support for now in Baolan. He has a solid 61 assists in the last 2 series and is definitely finding his way into tournament player pools for me. IG will likely draw high ownership next to BLG but I remain cautious when it comes to being all in. With RNG’s playstyle they die the 4th least amount of times in the LPL. This significantly lowers the upside for IG guys across the board. I think my primary build would keep exposure to around 1-2 players from this game(mostly IG side). RNG is a live dog here but I’m not confident enough to roll them tonight in cash. I hate to say it, but it does seem like IG is dialing in and looking ilke a team that is going to fight for a spot to world. Which is pretty much the opposite of what we are seeing from FPX(rip). Give me IG 2-1 tonight with a solid shot at the 2-0 sweep.

IG: Rookie, Puff, Baolan
RNG: XLB, Xiaohu, GALA

LCK Standings

KT Rolster vs SandBox Gaming

SandBox Gaming has looked like a completely different team since YamatoCannon became coach as they’ve been outdrafting their opponents and limited their mistakes in the late game. SB just swept KT a week ago when Tusin was out sick and they ran Smeb at support. Personally, I don’t think having Tusin being back is going to make much difference at all. KT’s season is slowly unraveling while SB’s stock is soaring right now. SB has an advantage in first tower rate and dragon control while KT has an advatange in first baron rate and first dragon rate. Using KT players is a scary proposition right now as they’re doing a lot of in game substitions and they struggle to find synergy. I’ll be confidently going back to the SB stack tonight prioritizing Fate, OnFleek, and Route.

KT: Aiming(GPP one off)
SB: Everyone

Gen.G vs T1

Earlier this month Gen.G got blanked by T1 as they continue to have their struggles with “big brother”. This game is a true pickem and should be a lower kill chess match. I expect Gen.G to have a better showing tonight but I have very little interest in this game from a fantasy perspective. Gen.G has the advantage in first blood rate, first tower rate, dragon control and baron control. T1’s main advantage is first dragon rate. On paper Gen.G should win this game but for whatever reason they seem to crumble under pressure to T1. There is sub risk tonight for T1 at jungler since Cuzz has looked pretty pedestrian lately I could see Ellim playing tonight. With Gen.G we know that Life usually starts but there is a chance Kellin gets the nod. I’ll take a stand and say Gen.G wins 2-1 tonight in a low kill affair.

GEN: BDD, Ruler
T1: Teddy, Effort
