The Tricky Triangle Nascar Preview

Welcome to race 14 of the NASCAR season. This week we head to Pocono, or “The Tricky Triangle”.

The Track: a 2.5 mile paved track in the shape of a triangle. This week they will run 160 laps for a total of 400 mies.

Past Races:

6/3/18 – Last year Martin Truex Jr won the 1st of the Pocono Races. He led 31 of the 160 laps.

There were 7 different Drivers who held the lead, with 11 lead changes.

Kevin Harvick – Led 89 Laps

Martin Truex jr. – Led 31 Laps

Kyle Busch – Led 13 Laps

Ryan Blaney (Pole Sitter)- Led 11 Laps

Brad Keselowski – Led 10 Laps

Bubba Wallace – Led 4 Laps

Jimmie Johnson – Led 2 Laps

There were 6 cautions (including the stage cautions). 4 of the top 5 starting drivers finished in the top 5.

7/29/18 – Kyle Busch won the 2nd Race last year at Pocono. He led 52 of the 160 laps. 10 Different driver lead laps In this race, with 13 lead changes.

Kyle Busch – Led 52 Laps

Kevin Harvick – Led 30 Laps

Daniel Suarez (Pole Sitter) – Led 29 Laps

Chase Elliott – Led 14 Laps

Erik Jones – Led 11 Laps

Kurt Busch – Led 11 Laps

William Byron – Led 10 Laps

Denny Hamlin- Led 5 Laps

Jamie McMurray – Led 1 Lap

Brad Keselowski – Led 1 Lap

There were 7 cautions (including the stage caution). Kyle Busch started 28th and came all the way up front to win.
