What to expect from this article: I will be breaking down a preferred player pool by position and having notes about specific matchups. Once we see some games played we can possibly provide an expected lineup and formations. Lineups usually release about 30-90 minutes before a game, so my best advice is jump into our Discord Chat and our Team can advise you of lineup plays and questions can be asked. Good Luck!
DFS Soccer Run-down:
We will be targeting two different type of lineup builds between DK and FD.
On Draftkings you are awarded for crosses and will want players that accumulate stats by playing wide, attacking or on. set pieces. When a player is on “Sets” this simply means he is favored to be the player on the ball for corner kicks and free kicks. Each corner kick usually results in a cross and you will see guys accrue a goals worth of fantasy points by crosses alone. Shots on goal are also a juicy stat but much harder to predict. So generally if you hear a guy is on “Sets” then he will be a target for DK and even more so if he is on a betting favorite. DFS Soccer has a lot to do with possession of the ball. The more a team has the ball, then ideally the more. stats they can accrue.
Fanduel works a bit differently as Goals and tackles are much more of a desired stat and Goal scorers and Centre backs (CBs) come in to play. You can still accrue stats but picking out the goal scorers becomes much more important. Also having a winning goalkeeper is much more important because of their scoring system.
Diagram Key: RED CIRCLES (Set takers/Preferred CASH plays), GREEN CIRCLES (CASH plays), YELLOW SQUARE (GPP plays)…If a Player is underlined in Red it means he has taken SET pieces before and could steal a few.

Levante vs Real Sociedad
**UPDATE: Levante looks pretty much the same here with Mayoral an experienced striker in over Roger. Still very GPP here. RSO has Munoz and Gorosabel in as the fullback pairing so those are your CASh game fillers. No Zubeldia as Zubimendi starts and he is GPP. I think you start builds with Oyarzabal and Odegaard here and go from there and choose 1/2 of Campana or Rochina or maybe full stack RSO. Portu. may go under-owned along with Isak here so there is your leverage plays.**
Game notes: We start off the day with a La Liga Showdown with a fairly even odds game with Real Sociedad (RSO) as the slight away favorite. It certainly is not due to their recent form as they lost 4 in a row before their most recent victory. They are the better side here with multiple upside players that have an attacking edge to their game. Oyarzabal, Odegaard, Portu and Januzaj all are great options and whichever are in means we have to consider them as near locks in CASH games. Isak or Willian Jose may start at striker for RSO and Isak is always intriguing as he presents a much bigger physical presence in a league short on Size and strength in back 4 defenders. Zubeldia and Merino are decent CASH plays as Zubeldia has had an awesome run of form lately. On the other side we get a Rochina/Campana split on SET pieces. The coin flip is always hard as to pick from LEV so I just think you try to get both if you can. Rochina has the upside and Campana the floor if that helps your choice. All of the fullbacks are in play today in CASH builds and I think this may be a slate where I just play one line and stack RSO in hopes they pay off big. This is pegged to be a low scoring game and I lean the under on the 2.5 goal prop.
Tottenham vs Everton **CONFRIMED LINEUP**
**UPDATE: As you can see above we have included an updated lineup for the BIG EPL showdown. A couple of changes here as “squidward ” Dele Alli is not in the starting 11 which is a good thing for the Spurs. Lo Celso is pushed into the 10 (Attacking midfielder) position which gives him a higher upside. Ben Davies starts at left back which doesn’t change things a ton for me. EVE seem to have gone with a more defensive midfield pairing in Davies/Gomes but other than that there are no real changes.**
Game Notes: This is the BIG ONE for the BIG $$$.. We get one of the worst teams for Showdown in Tottenham (I will elaborate shortly) at home hosting Everton in a showdown of two teams wishing they could push reset to the 2020 EPL season. Tottenham are always tough because DK refuses to price up their best CASH game SET taker Giovanni Lo Celso as he is not really a Goal scorer. So he is uber chalk as he should be and will be very popular as a CASH game CAPTAIN pick. TOT are the favored side here but I think this game is a lot closer than people think. I would much rather take the +285 with Everton here as TOT has played like dog poo lately so I will lean that way. Tottenham will have CASH plays with Son, Aurier, Moura and even Vertonghen here so I will definitely mix and match and play multiple lines but for Single lineups in CASH I think you try to at least prioritize Lo Celso, Son and Aurier. Dele Alli is so GPP and honestly falls in to that Jesse Lingaard (Man U) situation as there is money committed to him by the club but he is very much a negative to the team composition for me. So by seeing him in the expected lineup makes me really like the EVE side more here. Vertonghen is not a natural leftback here, but he is viable there and also a SET piece threat on headers. I really think Harry Kane could be the pivot point for lineups here. Fade Kane and you could be ash the top half of lineups or if he scores the coin flip will send you towards the bottom. That will be the decision today. I think even if Kane scores EVE can weather that storm and come out on top as Mourinho’s team has not been up to the par that Tottenham is used to. Lucas Digne has been the epitome of a floor player for DFS as he is priced as one of the most expensive defenders on any slate minus maybe Trent Alexander-Arnold, because he will give you that double digit DFS point floor with upside present. He crosses the ball a ton and is usually a SET majority taker. Gylfi Sigurdsson is back in the starting 11 and he could also take SET pieces away from Digne. I definitely see a split here but one thing Siggy has going for him is he is back to taking penalty kicks for Everton. Siggy has a floor and he has upside but he also swings quite a bit in DFS productivity which makes him risky. I do love Richarlison today. The hot headed Brazilian is the cover boy of this article for a reason. I believe in taking a stance on a player and he has the CASH floor and GPP upside that can change a slate. He is not as expensive as a Harry Kane or Son and he has just as High a ceiling. Dominic Calvert-Lewin also is worth a GPP shot here and he has definitely been in form this calendar year. Coleman is also a great CASH play but he faces a tough opponent here as well. Alex Iwobi is a fringe CASH/GPP but has upside to his game. See my note on Goalkeepers below as I think both see volume here.
Sevilla vs Eibar
**Update: Banega in over Jordan. No other real changes for Sevilla besides the fact that I love them here. Leon is OUT for Eibar so I think Esposito should be on SETS but they have such gross starting lineup. Cote is out also so tread carefully with too much EIB exposure.**
Game Notes: The late afternoon hammer we get another La Big game which should be a bit easier to analyze. We want as much Sevilla as we can get here. They are a top 4 La Liga team and Eibar is simply middle to bottom of the pack in terms of results this season and talent. Joan Jordan/Ever Banega have been the SET piece maestros for SEV and they have plenty of hands in the pot with Munir El-Haddadi and Torres also seeing a few SET pieces here and there. With 5 substitutions per side I always see the potential for rotation here but I think you target Jordan as a CASH game staple (especially at his price) and then grab 2/3 of Ocampos, Munir, and Navas.. Escudero is a good play but not nearly as good as Reguillon at left back so I am interested to see who starts. Navas is also a fine CASH game CPT pick to consider. Luuk DeJong is goal or bust and very GPP. He is in a good spot so consider that. Outside of Pedro Leon it is tough to lean on very many Eibar pieces. Jose Angel (Cote) is a solid piece and probably my preferred EIB piece because of the price tag. I will try to get 4/2 or 5/1 stacks leaning heavy Sevilla today with their GK in play.
- I do not Tout GKs for Dfs soccer because anything can happen. Here is my thoughts though for this position.
- Try to not play a GK against your attacking players. Unless it is a small slate (3 games or less).
- I usually don’t like to pay up for GK unless I think the bottom of the pool Keepers could legitimately go negative.
- GKs can be scored on and still be great plays. Saving a shot on goal and giving up a goal can net a zero. Clean sheet bonuses and wins both give you Dfs points but it is much easier to predict shot volume against than predicting clean sheets. I have seen -15000 favorites give up a goal in soccer so nothing is for certain. If you pay at GK for a huge favorite you may not have your GK see any shots at all which severely hampers your upside.
- I usually target the Cheapest GK (normally playing at home) that isn’t against the huge favorites.
