This is one of the better games, especially for fantasy purposes, that will have gotten for MNF. The Cowboys come to town to take on the Giants. The Cowboys are basically at full strength, where the Giants traded for Leonard Williams and will be without Sterling Shepard yet again. When the Cowboys are at full strength, they are a team that you’re going to worry about. They have the QB, RB, WRs, and O-line to compete with any defense. The Giants are lead by Daniel Jones who has shown flashes thus far. Barkley is a game breaking threat regardless of opponent, and the trio of Tate, Engram, and Darius Slayton are a good mix of short, intermediate, and deep threats. The line is much improved from last season and it’s allowing Jones to develop. On the other side of the ball, both teams have average to slightly-below-average defenses. They are both middle of the pack against the run, and the cowboys are middle of the pack against the pass, while the Giants are one of the worst against the pass. There are a ton of plays in this game, so the scenarios I’ve laid out are just scratching the surface.
- The Giants are favored, and it sets up well for Zeke. He’s a do it all type back and is highly likely to dominate the touches. The simple threat of Zeke on the field helps take pressure off Cooper and Gallup. I expect Zeke to get his, and playaction shots to Cooper and Gallup. I don’t expect Prescott to throw a ton, but he will be efficient in the throws he does make. The leads to the Giants playing catch up. Jones will have to get it out quickly to Barkley in the flats and Tate underneath. Tate has racked up the catches since he’s come back from suspension. He was the only one to do anything against the Patriots the other week, don’t forget. I do expect Engram to have a nice game over the middle as well, with Slayton taking the safties deep.
- Saquon gets it going and shows the world why they took him so high. He loves to shine in the spotlight, and as a home underdog, this is the perfect spot. He’s a strong captain candidate, do to his versatility. This will force the Cowboys to throw more than normal, leaving Cooper and Gallup as amazing plays. They will certainly get going against one of the worst pass defenses in the league.
- Both team totals are pretty healthy, but it is a divisional game, and these guys know each other very well. There is appeal to the game going uglier than expected and the defenses/kickers doing well. In these scenarios, I want to get players from both sides that have the most carries and/or targets.
- Both Qbs
- Daniel Jones
