2nd  in our series of top 10 players at each position is SHOOTING GUARD.

(1)   MYLES POWELL, SR. (SETON HALL)

23.1 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 2.9 apg, .447 FG, .363 3PT, .840 FT

Most explosive player in the country.  Can not be defended.  Over the last 8 games of last season averaged 27.5 points per game.  Consensus Pre Season All American

(2) SAM MERRILL, SR. (UTAH STATE)

20.9 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 4.2 apg, .461 FG, .376 3PT, .91 FT

Mountain West Player of the Year.  Besides being one of the best shooters in the country Merrill is also one of the best passers.  Best unknown player in the game.

(3) ANTHONY EDWARDS, FR (GEORGIA)

No 2018/19 stats (Freshman)

Ability to score at all three levels and should step right in as an All-American this season.  Will have the ball in his hands for most of the games

(4) COLE ANTHONY, FR (NORTH CAROLINA) 

No 2018/19 stats (Freshman)

Steps right into the uptempo guard position at North Carolina.  Three level scorer who is an extreme athlete.  Plus he has the genes- son of former NBA and NCAA star Greg Anthony

(5) JARRON CUMBERLAND, SR (CINCINNATI)

18.8 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 3.6 apg, .404 FG, .388 3PT, .77 FT

 

2018/19 AAC Player of the Year is one of the most powerful players in the country.  Makes 39% of his 3 pointers while averaging 18.8 points a game.
