TOP NHL PLAYS 10/31

In NHL by SolutionsteamLeave a Comment

Happy Halloween puck heads! Light schedule tonight.  Only two games.  Maybe Sid and the boys have trick or treating plans.

TOP GOALIE

PEKKA RINNE (NASH vs. Flames)

Rinne has been one of the best netminders of the season.  A 1.74 GAA, .937 Save % and 2 shutouts.  The Flames have been shooting cold- managing only 2.50 goals a game and 20th in power plays at 17.8%

TOP FORWARD

WILLIAM KARLSSON (VGK vs. Canadians)

11 points in 13 games for the Vegas center to start the season.  Also on top power play against a team on the road on the back end of a back to back and 29th in the league with a 71.0% penalty kill.

TOP VALUE FORWARD

JOEL ARMIA (MTL at Golden Knights)

You won’t be able to afford a lineup of just Predators and Golden Knights.  You need to look elsewhere and Armia is a nice starting point.  Cheaper on FanDuel at $4,400 Armia plays on the second line and second power play unit for the Canadians.  A solid floor with 4 points (3 goals) in last 3 games.

TOP DEFENSEMAN

NATE SCHMIDT (VGK vs. Canadians)

There are a few stud defenders tonight – Josi, Giordano, Petry.  But I am intrigued by Schmidt who is just off injured reserve and playing only his second game of the year.  He’s rested, ready to go and on the 2nd power play unit.  In contrast the Canadians are a tired team playing a second night in a row.

TOP LINE

VEGAS 2 (Marchessault/Karlsson/Smith)

Habs got in late last night after thumping Arizona. They are playing the second game of a west coast back to back.  They are ranked second to last in penalty kill in the entire NHL.  They are seeing 31.2 shots a game.  They will most likely play backup goalie Keith Kinkaid.  Add all this up and it equals a big Vegas Golden Knight evening.
