It’s November and already one month is down in the NHL season.  We are getting to the point in the season where trends and recent statistics are starting to matter.  This is when we are at our best at DAILY FANTASY SOLUTIONS.  So let’s take a look at the best plays on this 8 game Friday night.

VEGAS

TOP OVER/UNDER-  6.5

WPG (3.0) @ SJ (3.6)

PHIL (3.1) @ NJ (3.4)

HIGHEST IMPLIED

CAROLINA (3.8)

SAN JOSE (3.6)

WASHINGTON (3.5)

NEW JERSEY (3.4)

HIGHEST MONEYLINE

CAROLINA (-271) – rising from -255

WASHINGTON (-184) – rising from -173

ST. LOUIS (-158)- dropping from -167

SAN JOSE (-145)- dropping from -152

COLORADO (-136)- dropping from -140

TOP GOALIE

PETR MRAZEK  (CAR vs. Red Wings)

Revenge game narrative.  Carolina biggest favorite on slate (-271). Mrazek carrying a 2.24 GAA. Wings only scoring at a 2.31 goals per game clip. Top cash game option.

TOP FORWARDS/ONE OFFS

NIKLAS BACKSTROM (WAS vs. Sabres)

Seven points in last seven games.  Old reliable keeps on chugging surrounded by Ovechkin and Oshie in a game with a 6.5 over/under.  Priced reasonable for centering that main line and top power play.

CLAUDE GIROUX (PHIL at New Jersey)

The Devils just allowed seven goals on 23 shots. Giroux is now on a line with James Van Riemsdyk and Jakub Voracek and he has double-digit DraftKings points in six of his last 7 games (2 goals in last 4).  Devils are giving up power play goals at a 71.8% clip (26th in NHL) while the Flyers are scoring man advantage goals at 23.8% (10th in NHL).  Keep an eye on this line tonight as a sneaky GPP stack.

LOGAN COUTURE (SJ vs. Winnipeg)

High over/under (6.5) with a team implied of 3.6 against the league’s worst penalty kill (65.4%).  Jets are also depleted on the blueline and will be without Patrik Laine and possibly even Bryan Little.  Couture has had a mediocre start to season and a limping Jets team is exactly what he needs.  Mini stack with Meier and Karlsson DK.

JAMIE BENN (DAL @ Colorado)

Veteran winger of the Seguin line with Alexander Radulov.  Radulov is coming off of a hat trick so ownership will be pointing his way.  So pair Benn with Seguin in a mini GPP stack and you may be contrarian.  Benn has 4 assists in his last 6 games and is due to see some positive (3% shooting this season compared to career 13.4%).

TOP DEFENSEMAN

DOUGIE HAMILTON (CAR vs. Red Wings)

A great way to get a piece of the Carolina offense. Averaging 3 shots on goal a game with 13 points in 12 games played.  Red Wings have the 4th worst penalty kill in the NHL (71.4%) and Hamilton quarterbacks the Canes 2nd power play unit.

TOP VALUE

ALEXANDER VOLKOV (TB @ Islanders)

Played with Kucherov and Stamkos against the Devils and is slated to start off on that top line tonight.  At $2,700 DK do I need to say anymore?

TOP LINE

SAN JOSE 1 (Kane/Hertl/Couture/Labanc/Karlsson)

It’s bad enough that Winnipeg’s blue line is injury depleted. Their penalty kill also sits at the bottom of the league with a horrendous 65.4 percent kill rate.  A lot of Sharks are off to a slow start and they can not ask for a better bounceback situation.   Both of San Jose’s power play units are actually in play so you can’t go wrong.
